The Grand Banqueting Suite Dewsbury certainly lived up to it’s name. The newly opened section, with it’s opulent chandeliers and grand stair case was the beautiful setting for Saqib and Maryam’s wedding.
The day started early as we met Maryam at her make up artist’s studio in Batley. This is our favourite part of the day… We love capturing the details! Maryam must have had the heaviest dress in the world… The hanger almost buckled under the sheer weight.
Saqib’s arrival with the thumping beats of the Dhol players was full of energy, lots of dancing and the scattering of dollar bills. This set the tone for the rest of the day. One of the highlights was documenting Maryam’s sister’s prank. They tied a knot in the straw of Saqib’s milk for the dhood pilai rasm – it had everyone in stitches.
